Giving Day: Music on the Hill leads Wilton nonprofits

Wilton-based Music on the Hill led 19 Wilton-area nonprofits in donations received during Giving Day, presented by Fairfield County’s Community Foundation on March 1.

The 24-hour online donation program raised $1,400,887 through 16,593 gifts. Seventeen Wilton-area nonprofits received gifts totaling $47,534.

The following organizations participated:

  • A Better Chance of Wilton — 26 gifts — $3,185.
  • Ambler Farm — 11 gifts — $610.
  • Animals in Distress — 81 gifts — $6,475.
  • Connecticut Appleseed — 2 gifts — $200.
  • Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation — 5 gifts — $205.
  • Music on the Hill — 229 gifts — $24,719.
  • Norwalk River Valley Trail — 10 gifts — $410.
  • Norwalk River Watershed Association — 7 gifts — $650.
  • Riverbrook Regional YMCA — 3 gifts — $325.
  • Wilton Historical Society — 16 gifts — $1,085.
  • Wilton Land Conservation Trust — 1 gift — $100.
  • Wilton Library Association — 80 gifts — $4,245.
  • The Wilton Playshop — 40 gifts — $2,600.
  • Wilton Singers — 24 gifts — $865.
  • Wilton Volunteer Ambulance Corps — 9 gifts — $780.
  • Wilton Youth Council — 11 gifts — $555.
  • Woodcock Nature Center — 11 gifts — $525.

Norwalk River Valley Trail was listed as based in Ridgefield, but was included here because a portion of the trail is in Wilton.

Two Wilton organizations were unsuccessful: The Carl Schmitt Foundation and Trackside Teen Center.
